Pre-Coat

The Everpure pre-coat filtration system consists of a pressure vessel (container) - lined with a food-grade polymer; a porous septum material ; and a compound of filter media.

As water initially runs through the filter the powdered media mixes with the water and forms an even coat on the septum, forming a pre-coat filter cake. As water flows through the 'cake', its solid impurities are caught on the cakes small pores. When the media is carbon for instance the adsorption of tastes and odours takes place as well.

With the Everpure system the filters are constructed so that when the water supply is shut off the media remains on the septum unlike other types that do not, causing an uneven re-deposit when the water supply is resumed. Each Everpure filter uses a corrugated septum to allow maximum filter area.

Where scale inhibition is incorporated a secondary internal filter opens into a storage chamber filled with food grade water stabiliser. It dissolves quickly into the water to form a solution of fixed strength , which is fed into the main effluent mixing chamber. The flow rates are always proportional.

Capacities of all filters may vary according to the influent water quality, the flow rate, the line pressure and the continuity of flow.
